Blossom Home Care has expanded its presence across Yorkshire following the acquisition of Helping Hands Care Services in Malton; a move that has strengthened local care teams, protected vital services and created new career opportunities for people living in the communities they serve.
The addition of Helping Hands Care Services means Blossom Home Care now supports clients across Northallerton, York, Malton, Beverley, Ripon, Harrogate, Leeds and Wakefield, with over 300 local carers rooted firmly in the areas they work.
Led by Yorkshire-based Managing Director and Franchisor John Leggott, Blossom successfully integrated the majority of Helping Hands’ clients and carers into the Blossom family, ensuring continuity of care for vulnerable people who rely on support at home.
John Leggott said: “Care is about people, communities and relationships. When we saw the opportunity in Malton, our priority was to make sure clients continued receiving the care they needed, while carers were supported to carry on doing the job they love. We’re proud to have welcomed so many new team members into Blossom.”
While its care services continue to grow regionally in Yorkshire, Blossom is also strengthened by its national franchise network, also led by John, which stretches from Aberdeen to Cornwall. Covering 26 locations and employing around 2000 people, this wider network provides access to enhanced training, career development, and best-practice sharing, resulting in a happier, more committed workforce and, ultimately, better outcomes for clients.
Across the network, all locations are focused on delivering the exceptional premium care services that have firmly established Blossom Home Care as a leader in the sector. Its approach to care is built around time, transparency and personalisation, with every care plan tailored not only to physical needs, but also emotional wellbeing. With 50-minute minimum visits, agreed visit times, and the Blossom Home Care app offering full transparency of care delivery, families can be confident that their loved ones are receiving reliable, compassionate support from fully trained and vetted carers.
This premium, award-winning service benefits carers as well as clients. Carers are rewarded with some of the highest hourly pay rates in the sector, with recent increases taking rates in Yorkshire to £17 per hour.
This commitment has enabled Blossom Home Care Yorkshire to attract highly skilled, experienced local carers who are passionate about making a positive impact to clients’ lives.
This has led the company to consciously prioritise recruitment from within the local communities it serves.
John Leggott added: “Local carers know the streets, the people and the unique character of each area. That shared understanding helps build stronger, more trusting relationships with clients. It also means we’re creating meaningful employment opportunities for Yorkshire people, right here in Yorkshire.”
With close to one million people in the UK currently receiving domiciliary care, and demand rising every year, finding a provider that delivers truly personalised, dependable support can be challenging. Blossom’s mission is to make award-winning, locally delivered care more accessible to those who need it most.
Concludes John Leggot: “We are Yorkshire people, running a Yorkshire business, for Yorkshire communities. Our growth is about doing care properly, supporting local jobs and giving clients the service they deserve, in the comfort of their own homes. Blossom is not just growing, we are positively blossoming in Yorkshire and beyond!”
